A late C17 baffle entrance central chimney house with added parlour cross-wing
of one bay dated 1727 with outside chimneystack added to south. Two storeys and
attics timber-framed, with square framing exposed on the east and north sides,
the front elevation refronted with painted brick on the ground floor and tile
hung above. Two storeys and attics in gable at the south end of the front.
Horsham slab roof, half hipped at the east end to front, but rear now has tiled
roof. The door has been widened for rolling in barrels when the building was an
Inn. Three Queen struts to roof. The central hearth room has a fine ingle. nook
and a decorated chamfered spine beam. (See Domestic Buildings Research Group
