11/98 Gates, gate piers and
- wall at Hanch Hall

GV II

Gates, gate piers and wall. Mid-C19. The wall encloses the north side
of the grounds of Hanch Hall (q.v.); the main gates are at the west end.
Rough faced ashlar wall with dentilled cornice. Wooden gates with cusped
openwork decoration flanked by a pair of red brick piers with rusticated
ashlar quoins and vase finials. To the left (east) is a second pair of
gates flanked by square piers with acorn finials. At the south end of
the wall is another gateway flanked by square piers with ball finials.
