Clapper Bridge

Road bridge over flood stream of River Bovey. Probably C17. Widened in circa
mid C19. Granite rubble with roughly dressed granite arch and coping. Single
span segmental arch with recessed arch ring with chamfered granite soffit to
outer ring. Parapet with roughly squared coping swept out over abutments. Widened
on south east, downstream, side with segmental arch with roughly dressed granite
voussoirs.

This bridge was probably widened when Clapper Bridge in Manaton parish was built
in 1845.
