Two terraces of back-to-backs, now 18 dwellings, linked at
right angles. Mid C19. Coursed squared gritstone and rendered
brick, slate roofs. 2 storeys, 10 first-floor windows to
Chapel Street, 8 windows to Chapel Terrace, forming L-plan;
elliptical arch between Nos 10 & 12 Chapel Street through to
rear properties built as back-to-backs but now linked (Nos 1-8
Chapel Square).
Facades: on Chapel Street No.14, far left is double fronted;
all have plain entrances with overlights and small-pane
sashes, some replaced, stone sills and lintels; a straight
join between Nos 6 & 8.
Chapel Terrace: similar, doorways to Nos 1 & 5 have bracketed
cornices; 2 ground-floor windows and a straight join to right
of No.3.
Rear, Chapel Square: the brick walling rendered, details as
front. Stacks forward of ridge are rendered (?brick) to Chapel
Street and stone to Chapel Terrace.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
