714-1/6/515 Former lodge to The Grange

GV II

Lodge. Dated 1838, altered C20. For William Beckett. Coursed
squared gritstone, stone slate roof. One and a half storeys, 3
bays. In Tudor style. Central entrance in full-height gabled
projection: C20 glazed door in moulded surround, lintel with
raised lettering: 'WB 1838', hoodmould; diamond window in
gable. Flanking 3-light mullioned windows with hoodmoulds,
moulded continuous sill band. Kneelers, gable copings, banded
pyramid finials, central square ridge stack with 4 diagonal
flues; 2 added dormer windows. Right return: 3-light windows
to ground and upper floor.
