House, now shop. Early C18, with C19 alteration and shopfront.
Orange- buff brick, in Flemish bond at front, random bond at
rear; moulded stone cornice at front to pantile roof with
brick stack.
EXTERIOR: 3-storey 1-window front. Shopfront has full-width
moulded cornice over 2-panel door with overlight and
large-pane sash window over panelled riser. Upper floor
windows are one 16-pane sash on first floor, two 8-pane sashes
on second floor, all with painted stone sills and flat arches
of gauged brick. C20 louvred shutters to first floor window.
Painted stone band at first floor level. Rear: 3 storeys and
attic; 1-window gable wall. Ground and first floors not
visible. Second floor has 20-pane sash window beneath
elliptical brick arch; small replacement window beneath
similar arch to attic.
INTERIOR: not inspected. RCHM records original staircase of 3
flights with turned balusters, rectangular newels and moulded
handrail.
