Shop and house. Late C16 with major alterations of late C18. Timber-framed
and plastered. Slated roof at the front with a C19/C20 flat-roofed casement
dormer. Mainly plaintiled roofs at the rear, with rear chimneys of red
brick. 2 storeys and attics. 3 windows. Late C18 small-pane sashes. A large
central 2-storey flat-roofed splayed bay has small-pane sashes (the ground
storey sashes are an accurate late C20 copy of the original). Good late C18
entrance doorway: 6-panelled door with sunk and beaded panels, architrave and
cornice, and oblong fanlight with radiating bars. Good unmoulded C16 framing
exposed at 1st storey; arch-braced trusses and altered clasped-purlin roof. A
rear wing to right has exposed framing of c.1600 and some external cable
pargetting of C18/C19.
