House and attached barn. Early - mid C18. Coursed squared gritstone,
graduated stone slate roof to house, corrugated iron roof to barn. House: 2
storeys, 2 bays. Quoins. Central C20 glazed door in eared architrave with
moulded cornice and triangular pediment. 2-light windows with plain stone
surrounds, chamfered mullions and 2-pane casements. Gable copings, end
corniced stacks. Interior: ground floor, left - large well-made stone
fireplace composed of semicircular columns supporting large ovolo and
cavetto moulded brackets which carry the stone overmantle, the fireplace
opening approximately 1.5 metres high and having a mid C20 blocking; cross
beam with straight-cut chamfers. Original stair position against centre of
rear wall, rebuilt opposite front door early C20. Small dairy and cold
store rear right. Fine roof structure of 2 trusses: king post supports
splayed struts near the base, and 2 further struts link tie beam and
principal rafters. Barn: 4 bays; quoins to left. Cart entrance under
segmental arch to left of centre, end byre doors with plain stone surrounds.
