School building. 1863 (foundation stone) . Red brick
with stone dressings and some patterned brickwork; slate roof. High
Victorian slightly "rogue" Gothic. 2 storeys and attic with 3 storey
cross wings. 7 bays wide. Asymmetrical cross wing side elevation to High
Street with 2 doorways with brick nogged tympana under semicircular
relieving arches and stone drips; irregular flat arched stone colonetted
windows. South front has prominent range of large gabled 2 storey half
dormers with colonette shafted lights in 2 tiers. North front has
semicircular archways on ground floor alternating with small square
windows and 2-light colonnetted 1st floor windows; stone corbel table
below eaves and deep eaved gabled dormers in roof. The ground floor
internally is low and brick vaulted.
