Warehouse or cloth factory building. Early C19. Limestone
rubble with dressed quoins and slate roof. Rectangular plan.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; 4-window south front, the left-hand
(west) range being taller with hipped roof. Recessed horned
sash windows with plain square-cut ashlar surrounds and
glazing bars, 6/6 panes except 3/6 panes to upper floor;
flight of mid C20 timber steps rise to mid C20 half-glazed
door at 1st-floor level. wide ground-floor doorways; main
entrance with chamfered surround, panelled door and mid C20
canopy.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Built after the survey for the 1820 map, this is a reminder,
with the former mill building in Emery Lane (qv), of the
importance of cloth manufacture to Chippenham's past economy.
