GV II

House. C17, extended, and refronted early C19. Coursed
limestone rubble with brick gable stacks and stone slate roof.
L-shaped plan with right-hand rear extension.
2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. Central round-arched
doorway has a batwing fanlight with rope-moulded transom and
6-panel door, oak lintels to right-hand 8/8-pane sash,
left-hand horned 2/2-pane sash, and first-floor late C20
casements; central gabled dormer with 2/2-pane sash.
INTERIOR: details include a flagged through-passage with a
rear right-hand C19 stair with stick balusters and column
newels; stone winder stair to a right-hand front cellar with
storage bays; 3-bay front roof has tenoned truss blades with
threaded ridge and butt purlins, later rear range has an
inserted first-floor ceiling, and ground-floor with morticed
ceiling beams and a jowl post included in a section of
studwork with brick nogging around the stair well to No.67
(qv).
