House, now ground floor shops, with offices above. One
building, C17 with early C18 front, and C19 shopfronts.
Timber-framed, plastered front with masonry lining. Old tiled
roof with casement box dormer at left, above modillioned eaves
cornice, red brick chimneystack with projecting band, dentils
and oversailing courses shared with No.20 (qv).
4 first floor sash windows with divided glazing, flush set
with exposed boxes, cornice with carved consoles at first
floor level. Ground floor has central doorway with architrave
surround, small fanlight and cornice. 5 panel door with 2
lower flush panels, central recessed flush panel with raised
surround, 2 upper recessed flush panels with raised moulded
surround. Left hand shopfront with central canted entrance, 2
half-glazed doors, with plate glass display windows above
brown glazed brick stallriser. Right hand shopfront similar
but with C20 alterations.
INTERIOR has exposed timber-framing and side purlin roof, with
pegged rafters, visible in attics. Timber-framed, plastered 2
storey rear outshoots with old tiled roofs.
