Early C17 central chimney house altered in the C19. Two storeys. Front stuccoed
in C19 and given 2 small gables, 2 windows to the upper storey, the southern linked
by panel treatment to the ground floor window of the office. Modern shop front to
left hand side. Tiled roof. The chimney and the ground floor internal walls have
been removed. Chamfered beams and original floorboards. The chimney bay, from the
front to the back of the house, contained an entrance lobby, the chimney, a passage
and a semi-circular staircase. The stairs still exist in their original position
between the first and attic floors. Some wattle and daub partitioning. Two storey
Mid Victorian addition at the back of the shop and a complete C19 corn chandlers yard
consisting of a large barn, cart shed, stables, tack room and store for chaff cutting.
