The Brick House

GV II

House. Probably a late C18 or early C19 refronting of an
earlier building. Painted brick front. Roughcast left side
wall. Slated roof. Red-brick chimney on right gable wall.
Rendered chimney on rear wall, to left. 2 storeys. 2 windows
wide. Ground storey windows round-arched; 6-paned sashes, the
heads of the upper sashes with interlacing Gothic
glazing-bars. To left a possibly late C19 pointed-arched
window, perhaps replacing an original doorway. Upper storey
windows have flat gauged arches and 6-paned sashes. Front
rises to a simple cornice made of projecting bricks, and a
parapet with moulded coping. C20 doorway in left side wall.
