Pair of houses. c1840 with later alteration. Brick with ashlar
dressings and stuccoed garden front; hipped slate roof with
stucco and brick stacks. Double-depth plan with rear wing. 2
storeys; symmetrical 6-window range to garden front. Ends
break forward with angle pilasters; top frieze and wide eaves.
Windows have eared architraves; those to ground floor have
scrolls to bases and French windows; left end canted bay
window, right end 2-storey bowed window with 3 casements; 1st
floor has casement windows; truncated cross-axial stack and 4
return lateral stacks, brick to right; other stacks to rear.
3-window returns similar, some blind windows; central
round-headed entrances in recesses with fanlights and glazed
doors. Rear wing has sashed windows ; flanking round-headed
stair windows and projections with 1st floor round-headed
sashed windows. INTERIOR: c1840 features include cornices,
fireplaces; No.6 has stair with enriched iron balusters. Part
of a mid C19 residential development.
