Farmhouse. C17, possibly incorporating earlier core. Probably mid to late C19
alterations. Rendered, probably over stone rubble and cob. Gable-ended scantle-
slate roof. C17 stone stacks with weatherings, one with later red-brick top. C20
rendered brick stack.
Plan and development: Possible 3-room and cross passage plan, facing south-west.
Roughly-central axial stack (in front of ridge), integral end stack (rebuilt) to
left, and ridge stack off centre to left. Entrances to left of central stack
(possible cross-passage entrance) and in front of right-hand stack. One room to
right of stack possibly a later addition. Lean-to outshut at rear. 2 storeys with
1-storey outshut.
Exterior: Asymmetrical 7-window front; late C19 wooden casements. Entrance to left
with C20 porch, and boarded door to right. Rear has central first-floor late C17 2-
light leaded casement off centre to left and staircase window off-centre to right
with margin lights. Lean-to with two C20 casements to left and 2 boarded doors to
right.
Interior not inspected at time of survey (September 1987). The old list description
(1967) mentions "massive ceiling beams concealed by plaster". The interior of the
house requires further investigation.
