20/84 Shippon approximately 15 metres
- to south west of Copphall Farmhouse
GV II
Shippon. C18, possibly partly rebuilt the early C19. Coursed stone rubble with cob
end wall to north. Corrugated-iron roof, gable-ended to south and half-hipped to
north.
Plan: Ground-floor shippon with loft above, on west side of farmyard at Copphall,
flanking one side of farmyard entrance. Probably former lean-to kennel added to left
of front east).
Exterior: Farmyard side with central loft opening and 2 ground-floor boarded stable-
type doors with wooden lintels. Projecting stones to centre forming steps up to loft
opening. Lean-to addition to left.
Interior: Cross beams supporting loft, one with rough chamfer. 4-bay roof with tie-
beam principal-rafter trusses.
