Garden terrace wall. Dated and inscribed over doorway ANDREAS HUDLESTON
FIERIFECIT SOLI DEO HONOR ET GLORIA 1662, with 3 shields of Hudleston arms.
Sandstone rubble walls with ashlar dressings. Wall on 3 sides of a small
garden, the wall in front of the house forming a terrace. High wall beside
dovecote has central doorway with Tudor arch and inscribed lintel under
pedimented hood. The remainder of the wall on 2 sides is lower, with shaped
coping and C17 end urns. The doorway is thought to have originally been a front
entrance, moved from one of the wings of the main house. Listed for group value
with Hutton John.
