11 terraced houses. Originally known as Minerva Terrace,
forming eastern range of Barnsbury Square. c. 1828.
Multi-coloured stock bricks set in Flemish bond with banded
stucco ground floor and stucco dressings; Welsh-slate gabled
roofs with party-wall brick stacks. Symmetrical terrace with
projecting centre (nos. 70-74) and end (nos. 62 and 82) bays.
Side-hall entrance plan, except end houses, which have side
entrance. Three storeys, basement and some attics; 2 windows
each. Steps rise to doorway with plain jambs carrying
corniced-head, panelled door (nos. 62, 66, 72, 76, and 82 with
C20 doors), and patterned Neo-classical style fanlights (nos.
62, 64, 66, and 88 with plain glazing to fanlights).
Ground-floor 6/6 sashes with curved and radial glazing bars.
Gauged brick segmental arches and stucco sill bands to upper
6/6 sashes. Full-length sashes with iron balconies and
railings to 1st floor; centre projecting bay with architraved
1st floor sashes with cornices. Nos. 72 and 74 with stucco
cornice and parapet; no. 70 cornice removed. No. 76 with
remnants of 1st floor cornices to sashes and stucco parapet.
Most attics with dormers. Attached cast-iron area railings
with acorn finials.
