Milestone, late C18, for Norwich and Thetford Turnpike Trust; limestone.
Wedge shaped, 68 cm high with rounded cap, tapering from 12 to 29 cm.
Recessed full width panels inscribed NORWICH / 5 / MILES and THETFORD /
24 / MILES. The road was turnpiked in 1767. The milestone is on the verge
of the earlier line of the present road.
