House, subdivided into several properties. C18 extended and heightened early
C19, reworked and extended late C19. Red brick, the earlier part with
chequerwork patterning in flared headers. Hipped slate roofs. Main block is
3 storeyed, with 4-window facade, and has 2-storeyed blocks projecting to rear
from LH end, forming overall L-plan. RH bay of main block is early C19
addition. Original 3-window facade in symmetrical arrangement. All windows
are early C19 sashes with glazing bars in shallow reveals and under gauged
brick flat arches. Central doorway has gauged brick semi-circular arched
head. 6 panel door and sidelights, surmounted by semi-circular fanlight with
ornamental radiating glazing bars. RH bay has similar sashes to first and
second floors, and blocked elliptical carriage arch to ground floor. Variety
of red brick chimney stacks, including C19 one projecting from front elevation
between 3rd and 4th bays. Ornamental wrought iron railings and round-arched
gateway with double gates along road edge, gateway in line with front door.
