Farmhouse. Late C17 origin, extended in early C19 with mid C19 alterations and
additions, altered c. 1920 and later C20. Rubble, stucco front with hipped slate
roofs and stacks to sides.
C17 building of uncertain plan, forms rear range when house completely remodelled
mid C18 to form double depth plan with stair hall to right; extended to left in C18
and to right by rear wing of c. 1920 and additions to rear left, forming overall U-
plan.
2 storeys and 3 windows, central flat-roofed portico with unfluted Doric columns,
string course with peg guttae, half-glazed door with overlight in reeded surround, mid
C19 canted bay through 2 storeys to left with 12-pane sashes to front and 4-pane
sashes to sides, 12-pane sash ground and first floor right, larger at first floor,
similar sash first floor centre, band course broken by canted bay, plinth; to left of
bay, similar sash at ground floor, slate-hung above. Set back to left 1 bay wing
with lower eaves and C20 conservatory, with glazed door and first floor sash. Left
return of wing has render lined out, former round-headed door opening with 2-pane
casement inserted, C20 door to left, two 12-pane sashes at first floor. Right return
has 3 windows, all 12-pane sashes of C20 except ground floor right 16-pane sash,
similar porch to left with cornice and inner panelled and glazed door with overlight,
datestone reset in wall to each side, to left IRE 1624, to right M 1958, band course
returned. Rear wing to left has upper slate-hung addition on wooden piers set in
angle to main house, 2-light casement to inner side, C20 light below; rear of main
house has 2 C20 windows at ground floor with 2 at first floor, 2 single-storey lean-
to's along inner side to right with half-glazed door and multi-pane 2-light casement
to end.
Interior swept staircase with stick balusters and wreathed handrail, lantern above
of early C19, some early beams remaining to rear, otherwise mainly of C19 and C20.
