Limekiln. C18. Slatestone rubble. Rectangular plan, about 15 feet high, double
cell. Battered walls, west front has central round-arched opening leading to vaulted
chamber, with half-arch to rear right and left with slatestone relieving arches, over
conical kilns. Front entrance arch partially concealed by corrugated iron. Left and
right sides have round-arched access opening, splayed inwards to stoking hole for
kiln. Attached to right a wall enclosing a further bay with wide front opening,
roofless. Unusually complete example of a limekiln.
