SX 39 SW ST GILES ON THE HEATH

Farmhouse. 1863 (datestone on farmbuilding) for the Bedford Estate. Stone rubble,
rendered and blocked out to the front elevation, hipped slate roof, brick stacks.
Double depth plan with principal rooms on either side of a central stair hall. Long
rear service wing.
2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay front with central porch with shallow hipped slate roof
and fenestration of 12-pane sash windows. The porch was formerly flat-roofed and has
been modified in the late C20.
Interior not inspected.
A very complete Bedford Estate Farmhouse in conjunction with a contemporary planned
farmyard (qv).
