Pair of houses reputedly formerly the courthouse. Circa C17, remodelled in C18.
Plastered timber-frame range with thatched roof with hipped and gabled ends and
heavy moulded and dentilled eaves cornice. Two storeys. Five bays. Tripartite
sash windows with glazing bars. Two doorcases with fluted pilasters, panelled
reveals and glazed and panelled doors. Right hand with entablature left hand with
pedimented hood. Small late C19 shopfront at centre and glazed double doors. Brick
ridge and end chimney stacks.
Interior: Rear room has C18 fielded panelling. C18 dog-leg staircase with moulded
balusters, panelled newels and fielded panel dado. Chimneypiece with festoons in
the frieze and console brackets.
