Cottage. Probably late C17/early C18, thatch removed since 1959. Whitewashed
rendered cob and stone rubble ; tiled roof, gabled at ends ; projecting right end
stack, probably C20 rear left corner stack.
Plan: A small early cottage, the main block consisting of a principal heated room to
the right and a narrow service room to the left, small outshut on front at right.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 1 window front with a 2-light casement to the
left, a door to the right and the roof carried down over the outshut as a catslide to
the right, door and window on inner return of outshut. The left gable end of the
main block has a doorway into the service room flanked by small windows, one window
in gable.
Interior: 1 chamfered crossbeam to heated room.
Roof: Not inspected at time of survey but may be of interest.
An unusual example of a very small early cottage.
Group value with other buildings in the centre of an exceptionally unspoiled village.
