Former farmhouse, now used for farm storage with cider-mill house attached.
Farmhouse probably late C17 refashioned in C19, when cider-mill house was added.
Rendered stone rubble and cob. Corrugated iron roof with gable ends. Demolished
shafts to front lateral hall stack to right and left gable end stack.
Farmhouse of 2-room and cross-passage plan, the hall to right with straight-run
staircase to rear left-hand corner and 2-storey outshut to rear, left-hand room
divided axially with parlour to front and 2 smaller service rooms to rear. Cider
mill-house attached at left end.
2 storeys. 3-window range. 3-light casement, 3 panes per light at left end above
2-light casement 8 panes per light. 2-light casement 3 panes per light over C19
plank door to cross-passage doorway. Single light windows on each floor at right
end, 6 panes to upper storey, 8 panes to ground floor. Cider mill-house has wide
plank door flanked by window openings, single light to left, 2 lights to right, with
timber boarded internal shutters.
Interior. Hall has unusual panelled ceiling with deeply chamfered cross beam and
axial beams creating 4 panels, with additional half-beam set circa 1 metre back from
fireplace which has C19 fireplace surround. C19 straight-run staircase and joinery
intact throughout.
Roof space not accessible but exposed roof trusses probably C18 or early C19 with
straight principals and side-pegged lapped collars.
