7/14 Blankney Golf Clubhouse
and attached Cottage

Pair of cottages, now clubhouse and cottage. c1835 by W A Nicholson. Coursed
limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. Slate roofs with ashlar coped gables and
moulded kneelers and finials. White brick and ashlar chamfered plinth, flush ashlar
quoins. A row of 3 ridge, plus a pair and a row-of 3 lateral octagonal Tudor style
white brick and ashlar stacks. Single storey plus attic. Off centre doorway has
ashlar 4 centred arched surround and 4 panel door, to the left a 3-light square
bay window, with hipped roof also covering the porch. Above a tiny single light
window. Gabled cross wing to the right has a single 3-light window under dripmoulds
to each floor. Further to the right another gabled cross wing also with a 3-light
window under dripmoulds to each floor. All windows are casements in recessed and
chamfered ashlar mullion surrounds. This building is part of the complete estate
village erected by the Chaplin'family of Blankney Hall.
