of Church of St.
Bartholomew

GV II

Gravestone. 1807 to the infant daughter of John and Ann Hunter of Eachwick.
Sandstone tablet approx 4 ft high with scrolled pedimented top carved with angel,
symbols of eternity and death. Moulded edges. Inscribed:

Beneath a sleeping infant lies
To Earth whose body went
More glorious shall she later rise
Tho' not more innocent.
When the Archangel's trump shall blow
And souls to bodies join
Thousands will wish their lives below
Had been as short as thine.
