9/1 Branxton House
II

House with former Post Office attached to right. Early C19, Post Office
dated 1854 over back door. Rendered with ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof.

House 2 storeys, 3 bays. Thin angle pilaster strips. Central panelled door
with overlight in thin stone surround. 12-pane sashes in similar surrounds.
Gabled roof with flat coping and brick end stacks.

Post Office: Lower 2 storeys, 3 bays with 12-pane sashes on ground floor and
shorter 9-pane sashes above, all in raised alternating-block surrounds.

Rear of house also symmetrical with central boarded door and 12-pane sashes
including large stair window above door.

Rear of Post Office is one tall storey to left, 3 bays. Central 2-leaf door
with dated lintel; flanking 20-pane shop windows. To right 2-storey section
with two 12-pane sashes.

Interior has 6-panel doors and shutters. Staircase with cast iron balusters.
