Mansion, now a school. Erected c1782 for Nathaniel Kemp.
Yellow mathematical tiles, white brick, stucco, roof of slate.
2 storeys, 6-window range set out as a centrepiece of 2-window
range and 2 windows to either side. Pedimented Doric porch
with round-arched entrance having sidelights, fanlight and
panelled double doors. All window flat-arched with dressings
of white gauged brick, pediment with oculus over centrepiece;
cornice and parapet. Right-hand return rendered with 3-storey
wing to rear faced with cobbles with brick dressings;
left-hand return rendered, then a range in yellow brick with
early C19 sashes of original design to ground floor, and a
further tile-hung addition to north. Hipped roof.
