Villa. c1831. By William Thomas. Pinkish-brown brick in
English Garden Wall bond to sides and rear with painted stucco
front facade and Welsh slate roof. Central hallway plan.
2 storeys with attic, 3 first-floor windows.
Entrance: segmental-arched opening with tooled architrave,
within recess a part-glazed, 4-panel door between margin
lights, with overlight with glazing bars. Tripartite French
casements, with 8-pane centres and 4-pane sides, with blind
boxes. First floor cornice. 2/2 sashes with Venetian shutters
and boxes with slender pilasters and cornice. Egg-and-dart and
modillion cornice. Blocking course with balusters. Hipped
roof. End stacks. Attics to gables.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: Beauchamp Avenue was laid out as Beauchamp
Terrace c1828-31, most of the north side was built by 1838.
Forms an architectural group with Nos 27-39 (odd) Beauchamp
Avenue (qqv).
