Farmhouse

GV II

Barns, part of a planned model farm group. Mid C19. Local
rubble walls with segmental rubble arches over the openings;
dry slate roofs, part bitumen grouted, all with projecting
eaves and verges. Overall L-shaped plan (U plan with the
farmhouse, qv), the range at right angles to the farmhouse
containing 2 carriage entrances, the other range a threshing
barn adjoining the angle and then a linhay.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Courtyard front has from left: open
linhay front (partly concealed by late C20 shed); large
opening, later subdivided; tall narrow doorway; wide 1st-floor
loading doorway; very large threshing doorway. After the
angle: the carriage opening; small doorway; window opening
over small doorway, then a series of 3 similar doorways; wide
loading opening over wide opening, and carriage opening at far
right. Then the roof steps up to a 2-window-range building
that has a very short return on its right where it adjoins the
house.
INTERIOR: not inspected but likely to retain the original roof
and floor structures.
