716-1/7/235 War Memorial

GV II

War Memorial. 1921 by WS Weatherby FRIBA. Portland stone,
Hopton stone. A square base on a chamfered plinth bears the
names of the fallen in 2 World Wars, on a Hopton stone panel
to each face. Surmounted by a lower base to tall square pillar
with chamfered angles which is finished with cornice and plain
cross. The memorial sits on 3 stone steps with chamfers to the
angles, and a small podium with a curved stone seat to each
angle, with small obelisk ends.
