Description

Dated 1755 with additions of varying later dates. Mainly
2-storeys and attic rambling mansion with wide irregular south
front with early centre portion of 3 bays. All harled with
polished and tooled ashlar margins and dressings. Advanced
and bowed single storey and attic, outer bays that to
left possibly raised to present height when entrance
turret added; later 19th century drum tower in left re-entrant
rising 3 storeys with conical roof and corniced principal
entrance in base. Original centre entrance in cornices, lugged
and moulded doorpiece, with small centre 1st floor window
above with dated lintel; flanking ground and 1st floor windows
later enlarged as bipartites. Irregular 2-storey and attic
west elevation with rectangular bay window in ground floor
of NW bay. Various small piended dormers; some 1st floor
windows break wallhead as piended dormers; 2- and 4-pane
glazing; coped ridge and end stacks; slate roofs.
