Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay farmhouse at W end of

courtyard steading, latter arranged as flanking wings of house. Rubble-built with ashlar dressings, house limewashed with painted

and chamfered margins. SYMMETRICAL W ELEVATION: corniced central

porch (wide 2-leaf doorway); 8-pane sashes; eaves/lintel band;

tall, coped end stacks (rear wing to courtyard); narrow bays

either side link with piended end walls of steading: these ranges

both single storey with lofts, S range with small openings to

courtyard above cart openings, N range has slit ventilators. E

range with dovecot to courtyard and gabled shed at N end. All

roofed with graded slates.
