Description

Architect probably David Bryce, circa 1865. Long 7-bay

laundry extending W from rear wall of 3-bay cottage in T-plan arrangement. Scots Baronial details. Single storey, with

attics. All stugged red ashlar with polished dressings,

crow-stepped gables and coped end stacks; small-paned

glazing; all roofed with graded slates.

LAUNDRY: symmetrical S elevation with tall openings and

central door; windows to bays, gabled and louvred attic

ventilators to either long wall, N-facing windows mostly with

pedimented dormer heads.

COTTAGE: off-centre gabled porch to E, attic windows in outer

bays break through eaves and have gabletted dormer heads,

ground floor slit opening in right bay. Sash windows.

Drying green to S with rows of cast-iron clothes-poles.
