Description

Probably part of David Bryce's Castlemilk building programme,

circa 1867. Large quadrangular garden enclosed by high red

rubble-built and ashlar-coped walls with stugged dressings

and with entrance on each wall (wide vehicle slapping at W); exceptionally-long 28-bay lean-to at N with potting sheds

(?formerly some cottages). Garden walls swept up at N;

spear-head cast-iron railings and gates at S; raised base at

N of former glass houses; centrally-placed well. Lean-to

flanked by pedestrian gates to garden; boarded doors; windows

mostly with 9-pane glazing; straight skews; roofed with

graded slates.
