Description

Mid 19th century. Scottish baronial villa with later 19th
century extension to N. Asymmetrical. 2 storeys.
Stugged red coursers with polished dressings; single,
mullioned or canted windows; steep-pedimented dormer
heads; corbelling; crow-stepped/ornamental gables.
Entrance (W) elevation: original house right; gabled
entrance bay curved at ground, corbelled to square
above, crenellated porch with arched and hood-moulded
doorway; 2-storey canted bay right, conical-roofed
bartizan corbelled out above ground floor at SW angle.
Addition has twin gables, windows mainly bipartite;
mullioned and transomed hall window in linking bay.
Coped, mainly wall-head, stacks; slate roofs.
Large plain block abuts garden front.
