Description

Built 1834. Late Georgian villa with stables and gatepiers.
VILLA: single storey over railed basement. Droved red ashlar
with polished dressings. E and W flanks 2 bays, bay nearest
S on each flank is bowed, and has tripartite window
(unfortunate slapping near-centre on W flank); good lean-to
conservatory full length of S wall with clerestory; pedimented
and slab-sided shallow porch central on otherwise blank
N wall; flyover steps. Sash windows, small-paned at ground,
multi-paned at basement. Base course; cornice; pair
symmetrically placed wall-head stacks at N and at S;
shallow-pitched piended slate roof, curved over bows.
STABLES: single storey with loft; rectangular-plan; central
gabled bay has coach-house with loft window and dovecot over.
Built of squared red rubble with ashlar dressings.
Gatepiers: 4 corniced square rusticated ashlar piers with
raised caps, and linked by low quadrants.

who was a Mr Reid, formerly of 75 Irish Street.
