Description

H O Tarbolton, circa 1933. Corner bank with classical details,
3 storeys with attic, drum with dome over SW corner. 3-bay
W elevation to Queensberry Street, 4 bays to Great King
Street. Ground floor polished granite with contrasting
black granite doorway in right bay of both elevations; windows
with bronze glazing bars. Broad band above ground. 1st and
2nd floor polished red ashlar, windows mainly tripartites
recessed in tall linking round-arched panels and with margined
glazing; cavetto SW angle is channelled. Eaves course;
cornice; parapet with iron railings; dormers set in to steep
pavilion roof and in to drum; copper-roofed dome.
Interior: banking hall has suspended ceiling; vestibule
to Great King Street lined with marble, steps to upper floors.
