Description

Possibly circa 1771 or 1774 (indistinct datestone on (?
original) rear wallhead rear stack), possibly incorporating
earlier fabric at rear. Fine, 2-storey over cellar 5-bay
house, shallow off-set above basement and with rear wings
forming open courtyard. Front is painted ashlar with
margins, remainder whitewashed rubble.
MAIN (W) ELEVATION: panelled 2-leaf central door with plain
fanlight set in lugged and corniced architrave, approached
by steps; sash windows with 4-pane glazing set in wide
margins; low pend door at right; blocked basement openings;
eaves/lintel band; straight skews; 19th century end stacks;
roofed with graded slates. 2-storey rear wing adjoins at NE;
long single storey outbuilding linked to 10 High Street;
boarded loft opening above pend, detached outbuilding to E
continued behind 3 Queen Street.
INTERIOR- panelled doors in architraves; moulded cornices,
some dentilled; wooden stair balusters with bulbous newels.
