Description

John Rennie, engineer, built 1813. 5-span stone bridge spanning river Cree at Newton-Stewart Minnigaff boundary. 5 depressed-arch spans with bull-nosed cutwater buttresses rising to semi-hexagonal pedestrian refuges.All ashlar masonry with bold voussoirs; polished red sandstone parapet. Slightly humpbacked carriageway, splayed embrasures.
