Statement of Interest

No 22 William Street is a good, representative example of early 19th century villa construction. It is an early addition to Perth's south-side grid-plan spearheaded by the eminent architect and engineer, John Reid in 1809. The little altered exterior here is notable with its boldly corniced doorpiece, tall end stacks and rounded stair tower to the rear all adding to its interest and to the architectural and historic value of the wider setting.

List description updated at resurvey (2009).
