Description

Circa 1880. 2-storey and attic terrace of 6 2-bay houses flanking No 10 Newington Road (see separate list entry). Polished sandstone ashlar

(No 16 painted). Base course; dividing and eaves cornices; blocking course.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: Nos 12-20, each house comprising: corniced doorcase with 2 capitalled columns in bay to outer left; panelled door; plate glass fanlight; bipartite window to 1st floor above; piend-roofed single dormer. Full-height, 4-light canted window in bay to outer right; 3-light canted dormer above (replacement glazing to No 20). Arrangement of Nos 12-20 mirrored by No 8.

2-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; glazed cupolas; corniced mutual stacks; moulded cans.

INTERIORS: not seen 1995.
