The Old Rectory
II
1850, by W J Dunthorne. A 2-storeyed Tudor style house with a symmetrical main (west)
front of 1.3.1 windows. Steep slate roofing. Flint walling with stone dressings;
quoins, hoodmoulds, plinth. Gabled projecting sides with a finial, the internal angle
having a stack on brackets, surmounted by coupled Tudor patterned flues. A central
gable is flanked by finials and there is a wide central doorway with a pointed arch.
Casements; mullioned to the first floor, mullioned and transomed to the ground-floor.
The south elevation has a 2-storeyed bay with a lead ogee roof, and a massive attached
stack with set-offs and crowned by Triple Tudor patterned flues.
