GV II

Church, 1832-33. By E Blore. Alterations and additions 1893, 1902, 1910 and
1929. Gault brick stone dressings. Roughcast to south aisle; steeply pitched
slate roof to eaves. Nave, chancel, south east chapel dated 1909, low transepts;
south west tower, early English Gothic style, with Arts and Crafts Gothic south
aisles. Lancets to nave; no clerestory; 2-light plate tracery to south aisle,
alternate groups taller and rising up to form half dormers. Stepped lancets to
east end. Square tower, 3 stages, openwork parapet and pinnacles; clock to
second stage; entrance in south side. Interior not inspected. VCH.
