Manor house. C15, C17, C18 and C19. Coursed and squared rubble and brick, double- Roman and plain tiled roofs, coped
verges, ashlar and rendered sticks. Open- hall house, later floored with a lateral wing. Two storeys, 1:1:3 bays to
road frontage, that to left in a projecting single-bayed wing, wooden and stone- mullioned windows, labels on ground
floor, iron casements, square-paned leaded lights, iron quadrants. To centre of right section a tall stack on a
projecting chimney-breast with offsets. To right of this the door opening in a moulded surround, plank dour with iron
strap hinges. C15 2-light mullioned and transomed window in east gable face with cusping, iron stanchion and saddle
bars. Rubble forecourt wall, gateway with ashlar-piers with humped caps, plank gate. Interior with features of interest
including jointed crucks; some evidence of a former open hall. (VAG report, unpublished SRO, December 1972).
