C17. Much, but well, restored. Timber frame and brick with hipped tile roof
(formerly thatched); one storey plus attic; 3 restored casement windows with
modern leaded lights. Interior has exposed ceiling beams and joists, timber-framing,
and good restored central chimney with timber-framed brick shaft. Izaak Walton
was a native of Stafford and, although associated with him, the cottage was
never his permanent home. The building is attractively laid out as a museum.
