Fishing House. Dated "PISCATORIBUS /SACRVM / 1674 ". Coursed and
squared rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings; pyramidal stone slate
roof. Single cell square plan in an Artisan Mannerist style., 1 storey;
transomed windows with latticed lights and wooden shutters to left and
right; flight of steps to central double leaved doors flanked by pilasters
with round head and raised keystone inscribed with the intertwined initials
"I.W." and "C.C." (Izaak Walton and Charles Cotton). Built for Charles
Cotton the owner of Beresford Hall and friend of Izaak Walton.
